The Daisy family is one of the largest plant families with representatives covering the globe. A common trait for this family is to have several small flowers clumped together into a single head, often surrounded by showy bracts that mistakenly appear to be the flower petals. Many garden flowers are contained in this family such as daisies, sunflowers, yarrows, and gaillardia, as well as many of the garden weeds such as thistles, dandelions, ragweeds, and burdocks.
